Important information about shipping your air flow meter in for refurbishment
As air flow meters (AFM) are quite heavy, it is very important to pack them well when you send them in for refurbishment. The best option is a small wooden box but since not everybody has that, we recommend the following.
- Put the AFM in a cardboard box that’s just big enough. Fill the empty spaces tightly with paper, bubblewrap or packing peanuts.
- Seal the box.
- Take a larger box with at least 5 cm extra space on all side, including top and bottom!
- Put a layer of bubble wrap or packing peanuts on the bottom.
- Put the small box in the middle.
- Fill the rest tightly with bubble wrap or packing peanuts.
- Seal the large box; if necessary tape the edges and corners of the box.
Shake the box: you should not feel the part moving about in the middle. Send the part with Track & Trace and insurance.
Note: we only need the AFM, remove the air filterbox if still attached.
